A plugin is a software add-on which enhances your browser with greater capabilities. Both the Netscape and Microsoft
browser families accept plugins, but not all plugins will work with both browsers, nor with all versions of the same
browser. When downloading a plugin from the Web, be sure to get a version which matches both your browser's name and
vintage (3.0, 4.0, etc.). Installing an incorrect plugin can lead to unhappy results, as we and our testers found out more
than once!
